Hi,

I want to re-take 1 or 2 A-levels from home.

Can anyone recommend any training companies?

I've seen ICS on the tv but they don't do every subject - geography for
example.

Thanks
Ben

National Extension College:

Oxford Open Learning:

These offer the courses and learning materials so that you learn from
scratch, but you say you wnat to "re-take" some. In that case, if you've
already learnt the stuff on the syllabus then it's just a matter of
registering with the appropriate exam board and sorting out where the
nearest school or college is that will allow you to sit the exam as an
external (i.e., not enrolled with that particular school/college)
candidate.

Thanks Robert,

I am looking for the whole course not just the exam.

NEC look good, nice that they are non profit as well.

And they are offering 10% off at the moment

My good lady took a couple of A levels via NEC the support was dreadful, the
tutor repeatedly mislaid work, returned work unmarked, when work was marked
it contained virtually no useful criticism.

The material that was supplied was of no more value then that publically
available on Amazon. It was only because she was getting tutoring help from
the Local Adult Education Centre, that she ended up passing (two Bs), and
got into the university she wanted.

That said i would strongly recommend this though when it comes to revision:

It helped a lot...
