C-grade A-level could become career benchmark

What will happen to all those people who have got D and E grades.....

It is going to be like the GCSE system......

Here is the article,....

http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/news/s/127/127656_cgrade_alevel_could_become_career_benchmark.html

RISING A-Level pass rates mean the bar for access to a good career has been
raised to a C-grade at least, headteachers have warned.

As expected, passes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland rose for the 22nd
consecutive year - with an even greater increase in A-grades - amid the
annual chorus of criticism that the gold standard exam has been dumbed down.

Since the current system allows for an indefinite number of resits, those
with weak grades can retake a module or two to boost marks.

That's a strange reply. Unfortunately some people's grades are weak because
they get lowish scores in all the modules, and most people don't want to
carry on with a-levels after 2 years. Someone may boost their grade from an
E to a D, so there will still be D graders around.

Why? If somebody is unhappy with the grade they can resit without limit.

So? My answer is unchanged by this! They can study harder/better and with
better marks in one or two modules they should get a better final grade if
it is important to them.

and most people don't want to

But then the latter can boost the grade further, unless they have reached
their maximum.
